FREE Book Marketing Resource.. Would You Like to be Featured?
I just added a new “lens” (page) at Squidoo (you do use Squidoo for free promotion, right?)
Another “lens” will be for “Talking With Giants”, a part of the next Mega Success Day we’re planning for January.
While there, I got thinking.. why not give away a bunch of stuff on Squidoo.. and so my FREE BOOK MARKETING lens was born.
If you market to authors, or those that want to be authors, give me something to give away and I’ll promote it. Or if you have an interesting promotion idea for authors, books, publishers or webmasters leave a comment here and we’ll pick several to feature on the “lens”
It’s FREE to get started on Squidoo.. I suggest you grab a lens URL while there are still great names available.
Only take a few seconds to sign up. You can build the page later.
What Books Are Coming in 2008?
Going into the last month of the year.. time to make sure we have our promotion calander full up for the coming new year.
We’ll be making improvements to the ZeroCostPromotions program, giving you more ways to get new readers targeted for your mailing list.

WithInAsThru yoU! is Going to be a Best Seller
Scott Kiere and A.S. Kerself have collaborated with you on a new book.. now going out to millions of readers through our best seller blast promotion.
Our book marketing plan has come together with 97 participating partner, dozens of free bonus gifts and cross promotions that will build the partners online mailing list with new readers, prospects and sales leads.
I’ll have rank updates on twitter and Facebook, and here of course. What I won’t be able to report is the dozens of new deals that come from partners and readers connecting. It’s very common for me to talk to a partner that has been with us for a short while.. and hear about them buying a book, going through the free gifts that are associated, and finding several new partners for their own promotions.
The book is worth the few bucks. Go ahead a grab a copy, and maybe send out a few as gifts. (think about it.. don’t you open EVERY Amazon box the second it arrives? I’ll be your clients and prospects do to).
I’ve sent out several to people I want to stay connected with. I just add a note during the Amazon checkout that says “thought you might enjoy this” and my name. (also a free promotion idea).

Increasing Our Reputations Together with Social Book Marketing
I’m inventing a new term this evening.. “social book marketing”.. using social bookmarking sites for book marketing.
(helps my own target keywors “book marketing” too<grin>)
Here’s the deal… I’m placing links in posts here.. and soon on other sites I tell you about.. so you can click to add a vote.
If you have similar software buttons, just let me know and I’ll be happy to reciprocate, and tell readers here (hnit.. you can tell them yourself in a comment to this post)
So click on any of the links or buttons you see.. then post a comment to let me know how it works for you
Another Partner Comments
Here’s a testimonial I picked up on Facebook
Warren Whitlock Book Marketing on Facebook
| Dov Baron at October 19 1:25pm | |

“Warren and I have have goten to know each other over the last year or so I have found him to be very knowledgable and even more important willing to assist you in applying his knowledge for your success. Warren is the king of JV book promotion.” |
I’m always looking for ways to reciprocate. Leave a comment here, and on make sure we are connected on Linkdin
Do let us all know about other networking and cross promotions sites you find
Updated News Theme
I’m working on some new ways for you to cross promote and get FREE leads, new readers, more subscribers and web traffic.
One idea is to feature more comments and testimonials on blogs like this. So I started with a new theme.
Leave a comment and tell me what you think. Be sure to add a link to whatever is new in your business.
Working together, we all grow faster!
Watch the comments
A couple of bright ZeroCostPromotions.com partners have been adding comments to this and other blogs and feeds.
Why do this?
- People reading the blog have similar interests
- Links to your site are considered “authority” links and give you credibility
- If you do it in more than one place, you are considered an authority
There no cost to post a comment. But plenty of opportunity.
One caveat.. don’t look like a spammer. Make sure you have read the post and comment about it. Never say “great post” rather “you said X and I’d like to add Y” and then put a link to your site.. but not a sales pitch.
“Warren, How did you link to so many people?”
I just heard from ZeroCostPromotions.com partner Dave Sharp (Savor the Fruits). He noticed how I have a lot more contacts on LinkedIn. I think my response to him will help you connect with more like minded partners so we can all grow more:
The key is to invite those you have in your Rolodex (or whatever it’s called now). I still only have a tiny fraction of my Outlook contact in LinkedIn.. haven’t tried much with the mailing list, but a mass invite won’t work near as well and quick, individual messages. Every invite is a peronal connection with someone.
Some suggestions.
- Install the toolbars (IE and Outlook) and get in the habit of inviting people
- Make sure your profile is complete.
- Endorse as many people as you can. The “players’ love it.
- Look through the network of people 2-3 levels away. Always send an invite through the system
I’ve reconnected with dozens of people I had not talked to in years. My contact database includes vendors from an old business, people in the last place I lived, everyone who hands me a biz card (well, no everyone.. it’s impossible to keep all those cards). I just wish I had understood the power of staying connected back when I was in college and worked in radio for a decade. I used to think “move to a new job, start all over”.. Boy, was that dumb!
One more hint:
Buy the books on our promos (a good idea.. even if it’s self serving for me).
Then write a review on Amazon. Do they read reviews? (I got a multi-million selling author as a client 50 minutes after posting a review of his book).
Also sign up for ALL of the appropriate offers from partners. Our partners are all working to build contacts and mailing list.
Yes, this works… we’ve had partners do deals netting high five figures after meeting on a promotion.
